Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Curb charge for landfill-bound waste by the bag?
By offering a lower monthly fee and charging for landfill-bound waste by the bag, we give you the ability to take control of both your trash costs and your landfill footprint.

How do Curb Landfill Stickers work?
Full-service customers pre-pay for their landfill-bound waste by ordering Curb Landfill Stickers. Each landfill sticker costs $3 and is good for an average kitchen trash bag (up to 15 gallons, 25 lbs max.). Before you throw a bag of landfill-bound waste in your bin, you simply place a Curb Landfill Sticker on it where our collection crew can see it.

How do I order more Curb Landfill Stickers?
You can order more Curb Landfill Stickers in our online shop or through the Curb portal. Order more stickers as you need them, or sign up for a subscription to make sure you never run out!

What if I normally use trash bags that are larger than 15 gallons?
If you would like Curb to pick up a bag that is between 15 and 33 gallons, please attach 2 Curb Landfill Stickers on the bag (40 lbs max). Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate bags larger than 33 gallons with our current equipment.

Does Curb offer service reminders?
Yes! At sign up, you can opt in to receive service reminders either via text or email. These service reminders are sent out the day before your pickups.

What is the deal with the "skip" feature?
If for any reason you don't need your landfill-bound trash, recycling or compost picked up (say, you're on vacation for instance), you can easily skip service by responding to our convenient service reminders or by selecting "skip" on the portal. Each time you do this, you get a $4 credit added to your account!

What do I get when I sign up for a full service plan?
When you sign up for a full service plan, we will deliver a 64-gallon trash bin, a 64-gallon recycling bin, and a 5-gallon compost bucket directly to your home. You will also receive a starter pack of 10 Curb Landfill Stickers.

Do all full service plans include compost pick ups?
Yes! Curb believes that composting is a key step to reducing our landfill footprint. When you sign up for a full-service plan, you can choose whether you would like your compost picked up every other week (Basic Curb Plan) or weekly (Extra Scrappy Plan).

I'm a backyard composter, is Curb right for me?
Absolutely! Many of our customers compost at home. We're likely speaking to the choir here, but there are certain things - such as animal byproducts, dairy, and grease - that typically are kept out of backyard compost piles. Those items can be kept out of your kitchen trash and the landfill by disposing them in our 5 gallon compost buckets.

What do I get when I sign up for a compost-only plan?
When you sign up for a compost-only plan, we will deliver a 5-gallon compost bucket directly to your home.

Where does Curb provide curbside pickup services?
Our services are currently available in Burlington, South Burlington, Williston and parts of Shelburne and Essex. You can check your exact address, review our pricing and request new service areas with the interactive map below.

I have a dog, what should I do with their waste?
We have pups too. We recommend either collecting the poo bags into a separate, smaller trash bag or container and adding it to an almost-full trash bag before placing in your Curb landfill bin. Alternatively, you can add them to an open trash bag in your Curb landfill bin until pickup day, just remember to place a Curb Landfill Sticker on there!
